So, after a marathon of unwrapping some really thoughtful and unexpected gifts...I am reminded of the best gift we have in this journey of life. You know, the one that Buddha, Oprah and other guru's have been telling us about for years ... the all-mighty, Present Moment.
Recently, while watching my two-year old son Kian play with his new mountain of toys to create some fantastic imaginary scenarios, it is incredible how magnificently present he is. Living in the moment, joyously and excitedly.
As one year comes to an end, we begin to reflect on the year, the ups and downs; the joys and sorrows. We then start to plan out how we want to be a healthier, fitter, better-person in the New Year. Don't get me wrong, I love reflection and speaking out our hopes for the future. But to truly live in the moment, wherever you are in life, can remind us of how blessed we are.Because when you take a step back and just observe all the wondrous sequence of events that have brought you to where you are, we see our strengths, hard work and dreams taking shape just a little clearer.
So why not take a break from writing the mental list of resolutions for 2012 to just sit back, remember your inner-child and just Be.
Peace & Blessings,
